Ambivalent: Ivan Gette Brings Together Contradiction, Contrast, and Collective Vision

“Ambivalent”

Experiencing art is always subjective. It forms a continuous dialogue between the artist, the artwork and the viewer. When you approach it with an open mind, your perspective can shift instantly. The deeper you allow yourself to go, the more you enter a crossroads of emotions shaped by your own memories, values, intellect and curiosity.

In art, there is no right or wrong. Its purpose is simply to make you feel alive. This can manifest as a soft conversation or as a confrontation with yourself and your understanding of life, its complexity, its simplicity and its beauty. These reactions stem from the coexistence of both positive and negative feelings within each viewer.

The group exhibition ambivalent invited visitors to embrace this full spectrum of emotion. Featuring national and international artists, the exhibition encouraged reflection, connection and thoughtful observation within the unique setting of Notagallery.

The exhibition presented more than 300 works by 35 artists and took place from April 1st to July 15th, 2023. Ivan Gette was among the participating artists, contributing to the show’s exploration of artistic duality.
