From September 10 to September 14, 2025, the Parallel Vienna Art Fair – a key meeting point for collectors, curators, and art professionals – once again transformed Vienna into a hub for contemporary art. Ivan Gette, an abstract painter, captivated audiences with a bold joint presentation alongside Ness Rubey, a conceptual photographer from Austria. Their collaborative artist statement created a dialogue between painting and photography, exploring abstraction as a space for tension and harmony.
Gette’s standout work, “JUST TO BE ALIGNED” (2022, 200 × 120 cm, spray paint, sand, ink, acrylic on canvas), was acquired by none other than Dr. Helmut Marko. Known internationally as a former Formula 1 driver and Red Bull Racing advisor, Marko is also the steward of a renowned collection of more than 1,000 works of abstract art. The inclusion of Gette’s painting in such a prominent collection signals a rising market momentum for the artist and positions him among today’s most compelling voices in contemporary abstraction.
Ivan Gette’s successful participation in Parallel Vienna, crowned by this acquisition, marks an important step in his artistic journey and affirms his growing relevance in contemporary abstraction.
